Technical term – OCE
OCE (terminology in The Netherlands) is short for “detection of conventional explosives”. The term "conventional explosive" refers to UXO. In general, OCE refers to the (commercial) EOD sector, which is duly regulated by the Dutch WSCS-OCE directive.
The term OCE encompasses “the organization and execution of the following processes: work preparation, detection, localisation, layered excavation, identification of possible UXO, securing the situation, transfer of UXO to the EODD, and acceptance record”.
Corporate OCE activities stop where the actual clearance of UXO starts. UXO clearance can be carried out only by the EODD.
